Déjà Vu Images When I paint, I give myself over to the pace of colors running across the paper. I recall or fantasize about the flow of water and light in a particular place. I breathe. There is a subtle, powerful and invisible force there; that’s the thing I want to capture. I take pictures of the painting in order to examine it. I look. I persevere, mixing and combining colors, deploying the same motif in different paintings. The new image is propitious, but it isn’t everything; there is more on earth and in heaven than we can glimpse or envisage. Once multiplied, every thing possible appears, like a reflection or mirage of the present in the past; in order to continue painting, I delve back into the random tangle of visual memory’s routes.
